BEGINNERS GUIDE FOR FLIGHT TRAINING

If you are reading this article then there are chances that you aspire to become a pilot. No need to worry, becoming a pilot is not as difficult as it seems like. We are going to discuss some important points before you register yourself for a Flight training school.

The basic requirement to qualify for a pilot position is a minimum of two years of college. What that means is that you need to complete your bachelor’s degree program, before applying to any flight training school. If you have just finished school and plan to not waste any time then you can apply for bachelor’s degree programs in aviation which will include flight training and at the end of the program you will have a commercial pilot certificate as well a bachelor’s degree. There are some of the best flight training schools in New York which offer these kinds of programs.

The second most important thing after your education is your License. To get a pilot license you must be 18 years of age and must have completed 250 hours of flight experience. Apart from these you need to clear your medical examination which includes various aspects such as vision test, physical test, impairment tests and much more.

Keeping these things in mind and after you get your pilot license, you have to prove that you are capable of becoming a responsible pilot. In addition to the above, you will have to clear a written examination which covers everything you learn at a flight training school and that too with good grades. After the written examination you will have to prove yourself in practical test, where the examiners will test your ability to fly an aircraft safely.

Apart from these, there are some basic things you need to take care of.

Communication plays a vital role in your training process from the start till the end. There should be no communication gap between you and your instructor. You should make your expectations and goals clear to your instructor. This makes it easier for both of you to communicate well as you would be starting off from the same page.

You need to be well prepared for your class medical and student certificates. Be aware of some of the medical condition or medications might require some special issuance. Generally, FAA does not publish any list regarding this issue but you can take a look at different databases available online to make sure which are allowed and which are not allowed.

Last but not least, learning to fly is a different experience for everyone. The first couple of lessons will be stressful for you but you need to have perseverance and dedication to achieve no matter what obstacle comes your way. Have a good luck.
