2-Hour Intro Lesson

$380 ($190/hr)

New to Aviator? Start here. Your first lesson is a full two hours: a 15-minute pre-flight briefing, 95 minutes hands-on in the simulator, and a 10-minute post-flight debrief. You fly an FAA-approved AATD with a Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit, one-on-one with an airline-pilot instructor — and every minute is loggable toward a certificate or rating.

Young Aviators (Ages 8–16)

A safe, hands-on introduction to flying for kids and teens ages 8–16. Your young aviator takes the controls of a real flight simulator next to an airline-pilot instructor, building confidence and focus. No experience needed — and a parent is welcome to watch.

New Pilot — Private Pilot Training

New to flying or working toward your Private Pilot certificate? Train one-on-one with an airline-pilot instructor in our FAA-approved G1000 NXi simulator. You'll cover the same maneuvers and procedures you'd fly in the airplane, and every minute is loggable toward your certificate — at a fraction of the cost.

IFR Training — Instrument Rating

Working toward your Instrument Rating? The simulator is the most efficient place to master holds, approaches, and procedures. Train with airline pilots who fly instruments professionally, and log every approach toward your rating.

IFR Currency (FAR 61.57)

Stay instrument-current on your schedule. Fly the six approaches, holding, and course intercepting and tracking required by FAR 61.57 — solo in the simulator or with an instructor. It is loggable for currency, and far cheaper and easier to schedule than the airplane.

Type Rating Prep — Airline Interview & Jet IFR

How do I book a flight simulator session at Aviator NYC?

Book online 24/7 at aviator.nyc/book-now. Choose your service (new pilot, instrument training, gift certificate, and more), pick a duration, select a date, time, and instructor, then pay — it takes about two minutes. There are no membership fees. Our simulator is at 131 Varick St in Hudson Square, Manhattan, by appointment only.

How much does a session cost, and are there bundles?

One-on-one instruction with an airline pilot is $190/hr. Solo simulator practice is $85/hr. A 6-hour dual bundle is $780 ($130/hr — saves $360), and an 8-hour solo currency pack is $340. Remote Zoom ground instruction is $90/hr. No membership and no hidden fees.

How long is a flight simulator session?

Most sessions run two hours: a short pre-flight briefing, time in the simulator, and a debrief. You can book one-hour sessions up to multi-hour bundles depending on your goals.

Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?

Yes. You can reschedule or cancel from your confirmation email. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer the slot to another pilot.

Do I need any flying experience, and what should I bring?

No experience is needed — most first-timers have never touched the controls. Just bring yourself. If you are training toward a certificate or rating, bring your logbook so we can log the time.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. Gift certificates cover a one-on-one simulator session with an airline-pilot instructor and are valid for one year. The recipient picks their own date and instructor when they redeem.
