Remote Ground School

Close the Gaps the Cockpit Can't Fix

Professional remote ground instruction with active airline pilots. Master the theory, procedures, and decision-making that separate competent pilots from hour-builders.

REMOTE INSTRUCTION

Five Ways We Turn Screen Time Into Skill

Professional remote instruction that closes knowledge gaps and builds confidence

One-on-One Ground Instruction

Problem

Textbooks don't talk back and group classes move too slow.

Outcome

Connect complex theory to real-world application with an instructor who flew professionally yesterday.

All

Checkride Prep

Problem

Your DPE won't grade you on a curve, and you know where you're weak.

Outcome

Walk into your oral exam with the quiet confidence of someone who's already been grilled by a professional.

All

CFI Training & Mentorship

Problem

Knowing the material isn't the same as being able to teach it under pressure.

Outcome

Learn to teach with the structure and clarity of a seasoned instructor, ready for any question the DPE throws at you.

CFI, CFI-I, MEI

Flight Planning & Weather Strategy

Problem

You're stuck in a rut of familiar routes and fair-weather flying.

Outcome

Build go/no-go decision-making skills on par with a dispatcher, ready for complex cross-countries.

All

Home Simulator Coaching

Problem

Your home sim feels more like a game than a professional training tool.

Outcome

Turn your hardware into a high-fidelity platform for practicing real-world IFR procedures and flows.

HOW IT WORKS

Your Remote Briefing Room

We use Zoom for clear, interactive sessions, allowing us to share screens, annotate charts, and control your home simulator if needed. Every session follows a professional format: a 10-minute brief on goals, 60-75 minutes of intensive work, and a 10-minute debrief with clear takeaways.

Session Notes

A copy of the instructor's notes and whiteboard diagrams.

Session Recording

A link to the session recording for your review.

Practice Drills

Specific prompts and practice drills for your own time.

The Fine Print

Remote instruction is a powerful tool for knowledge and proficiency. However, this time is not loggable toward any FAA certificate or rating and does not substitute for time in an aircraft or an approved AATD.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and other platforms supported
  • Your instructor shares screens and walks through procedures in real time
  • Home sim time does NOT log toward FAA certificates, but builds procedure knowledge

Aviator NYC's airline pilot instructors occasionally have schedule changes due to operational demands — we always offer a replacement instructor or reschedule.

  • Flight planning, weather briefing, and regulation review — all from home
  • Combine with in-person simulator sessions for the complete training experience
