Steeper Turns
Steeper banks turn faster but require more back pressure and more attention to altitude.
What You'll Do Today
Today your turns get steeper and faster! You'll bank up to about 30 degrees — a medium turn. Steeper turns swing you around quicker, but they need more attention: the nose wants to drop, so you have to pull back a little to hold your height.
- Increase your bank angle to about 30 degrees
- Add gentle back pressure so the nose doesn't drop
- Add a little power to keep your speed up
- Roll out smoothly on a heading you pick ahead of time
By the end you'll be able to fly a medium turn while keeping your altitude steady and rolling out where you aimed.
