Unusual Attitudes

Sometimes the airplane ends up in a weird position — nose way up, nose way down, or wings vertical. You need to fix it fast.

What You'll Do Today

Today you practice fixing the airplane when it ends up in a weird position — nose pointing way up, way down, or wings tilted far over. The trick is to read the attitude indicator and use the right fix fast.

  • Learn the two main surprises: nose-high and slow, or nose-low and fast
  • Use the attitude indicator to figure out what is happening
  • Recover wings first, then pitch
  • Practice until your reaction is quick

By the end you'll be able to glance at the attitude indicator and pick the right recovery for whatever position you are in.
