Touch and Go
A touch-and-go is landing, then immediately taking off again without stopping. It is the best way to practice landings.
What You'll Do Today
Today you put the whole pattern together and do a touch-and-go — you land on the runway, then take off again right away without stopping. It is the very best way to practice landings, because each lap gives you another try.
- Fly the full traffic pattern from takeoff all the way to landing
- Touch your wheels down on the runway, keeping it straight
- Quickly raise the flaps and add full power to fly again
- Climb back to pattern altitude and go around for another try
By the end you'll be able to fly a complete lap, touch down, and lift off again — the same drill student pilots do dozens of times before they fly on their own.
