The Spin
In a fully developed spin, the airplane is stalled AND rotating. It looks scary but the recovery is simple if you know the steps.
What You'll Do Today
Today you watch a full spin from start to finish. Your instructor flies it while you observe — you'll see the nose drop, the world spin, and how quickly altitude disappears. Knowing what a real spin looks like makes the recovery much less scary.
- Watch your instructor enter a spin from straight flight
- See the nose-down, twisting descent and count the rotations
- Watch the altimeter to see how fast altitude is lost
- Understand why having plenty of altitude is so important
By the end you'll know exactly what a fully developed spin looks like — and you'll be ready to learn the recovery next time.
