Rudder and Trim

The rudder pedals control yaw (nose left/right). Trim takes the pressure off your hands.

What You'll Do Today

Today you add your feet and a clever helper called trim. The foot pedals swing the nose left and right, and the trim wheel holds the nose where you want it so your arms don't get tired. By the end you'll be flying with hands and feet working together.

  • Press the left pedal to swing the nose left, the right pedal to swing it right
  • Roll the trim wheel and feel the pressure leave the yoke
  • Trim the airplane so you can let go of the yoke for a moment
  • Fly a gentle turn using the yoke and the pedals together

By the end you'll use all three controls like a real pilot — smooth and relaxed.
