K2 — from PPL Lesson 1

Make It Move

Big Idea

The yoke controls pitch (nose up/down) and roll (wings tilt). Small movements make big changes!

Fun Fact

An airplane moves in three directions at once — pitch, roll, and yaw. That is one more than a car!

Challenge

Can you keep the wings perfectly level for 10 seconds?

What You Will Learn

Simulator Steps

  1. Start in the air at 4,000 feet (instructor sets this up)
  2. Gently pull back on the yoke — watch the nose go up on the screen
  3. Push forward gently — watch the nose go down
  4. Turn the yoke left — the airplane rolls and starts to turn
  5. Try to fly straight and level for 30 seconds
