Big Idea

The buffet (shaking) is the airplane telling you it is close to stalling. Listen to what the airplane is saying!

Fun Fact

The stall warning horn is one of the most important sounds in aviation — it means "add power now!"

What You Will Learn

Simulator Steps

  1. In slow flight, continue slowing very gradually
  2. Feel the airplane start to shake (buffet)
  3. You might hear the stall warning horn — BEEP BEEP BEEP
  4. Immediately push the throttle forward — FULL POWER
  5. Lower the nose slightly and recover to normal flight
